10 May 2007 - Spanish dairy company Leche Pascual has announced that it has signed a deal to buy French fruit juice bottling company Cidou for 6 million euro.
Cidou is part of French dary group SA Etablissements Toury, which was placed into receivership in April.
At the time, FLEXNEWS reported that a court in Clermont Ferrand ruled in favour of a takeover plan proposed by a group of 4 companies, which include Fromageries Dischamp, the Dairy Cooperative Group of Charente-Poitou, Spanish dairy firm Leche Pascual and, lastly, Vitagermine, an organic food specialist.
Fromageries Dischamp bought Toury's cheese division and Vitagermine bought Toury's baby food division.
The Cidou acquisition was carried out within the framework of Leche Pascual's internationalisation plan. The Spanish firm plans to locate its European business development platform in the Alsace region, eastern France, where Cidou is based.
Cidou produces 85 million litres of juice annually.
