Brussels, June 20 - Dow Chemical Co. won permission from the European Commission on Wednesday to buy Wolff Walsrode from Bayer AG, which had agreed to sell the cellulose products unit for an undisclosed amount.
"The Commission concluded that the operation would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area or any substantial part of it," the European Union's executive arm said in a statement.
Walsrode makes products based on cellulose for use in construction, food and personal care.
