Finland's Altia Acquires Spirits Distributor Vintappergaarden in Denmark

20 June 2007 - Finnish Altia Corporation has acquired a small Danish drinks distributor Vintappergaarden A/S for an undisclosed sum.

Vintappergaarden saw its 2006 turnover amount to 38 million DKK (5.1 million euro) and it has 9 employees.

Vintappergaarden is present in most Danish retail chains. The company's portfolio includes a broad selection of international brands, said Altia.

According to Altia the aqcuisition is a step towards the company's vision of being the leading alcoholic beverage company in the Nordic and Baltic countries by 2009 and the leading alcoholic beverage company in Northern Europe by 2011.

Altia is currently present in all the Nordic countries, Estonia and Latvia, as well as with a subsidiary, Bibendum, in Denmark.

Altia Corporation is a leading wine, beer and spirits distributor. The company also distils barley spirit for beverages, and has a strong range of proprietary products.
