Swiss Huegli to Buy Italian Sauce Producer ALI-BIG

28 June 2007 - Swiss food producer Huegli Holding AG will acquire Italian sauce and antipasti company ALI-BIG Industria Alimentare S.r.l. for an undisclosed sum, reports the Swiss Financial media.

The acquisition is expected to help Huegli expand its product range and gain extra market share in the Italian food sector.

The media reports add that ALI-BIG will continue to operate as an independent company within Huegli's structure. Huegli does not plan any significant personnel changes go on to say the reports.

Huegli is a manufacturer of dry blended food products, such as sauces, soups, seasonings, noodle-, rice- and potato dishes. It has manufacturing facilities in Switzerland, Germany and the Czech Republic.

ALI-BIG, which employs about 50 people, generated annual sales of 11 million euro last year.
