This approval is conditional on the disposal of nine stores, to which Carrefour Group has already agreed. This will bring Carrefour’s total network in Poland to close to 330 stores.

This follows the agreement signed between Carrefour and Ahold in December 2006. Ahold and Carrefour expect to close the transaction within a week.

Carrefour Polska will become number 2 in the Polish food retail market, with close to €2bn sales inc VAT under banners.
